Metamorphosis

These are examples of metamorphosis drawings. This type of drawing can be completed in a Foundation Drawing course as well as more advanced drawing classes. In a foundation drawing class this exercise tests each student's ability to see through the mind's eye as well as developing intuitive critical thinking skills. In an advanced class it opens the doorway to abstraction. Above is a series of student metamorphosis drawings as well as the original source image that I gave them to pull their imagery from.  Each student was asked to start and stop with the same drawing and to have 3 transitions between each drawing (note the drawing below that I added numbers to).
