I wanted to pair these two videos of Jayson Musson because although they are rather different in tone I think that together they enhance one another. The first is Hennessy Youngman which is Musson's alter ego. The point of view is of the informed outsider; an informed critique wrapped in the guise of the everyman on the street. The second video is of Musson without the alter ego discussing his paintings and process. I love the way the two videos contrast and inform one another. The wily Youngman is still a twinkle in Musson's eye when he's being candid and there is a twinkle of Musson in Youngman's eye despite the act.
