Planar Structure: Double Self-Portrait

The drawing above and the first three that you see below are from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. The prompt for this project was to create a double self-portrait using planar structure. Essentially the student had to draw themselves twice but they had total creative freedom for how they composed their drawings. Most likely we worked initially form thumbnail sketches before committing to the full composition. I appreciated the scale shift in the drawing above. I remember that this semester I had students purchase a roll of BFK Rives or similar paper with a couple other students in class (to split the cost) and then to cut the paper down for their projects. These drawings are each probably around 40 inches on the longest size.

All of the drawings below are by students at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
