Planar Structure: Student Work

The work selected for this post comes from students at the University of the Arts (an art school that unexpectedly and with much gnashing of teeth closed it's doors). What amazing students I got to work with there. The facilities was always falling apart but the spirit of the students and faculty kept everything afloat. Actually a couple of the drawings below were created by Saturday morning my pre-college students. Anyway, notice the line quality and chiseling out of form that you see in each of these drawings. While some utilize some light shading to enhance the dimensionality of form, this never detracts from or covers over the precision of the line-work.
