This is a bit of a wildcard post but here are a few additional examples of planar structure in no particular order. I believe that I first posted this when discussing the influence of African masks on Picasso (hence the first and second images). The order of the images moves from more geometric to more organic but even with the image of the moon (not a painting but a photo), I wanted to show the way we can think about such a smooth form in terms of planar breaks.
