Neo Rauch: Drawings & Paintings

 

I'm interested here in showing the relationship between Neo Rauch's drawings and his paintings. Especially the progression from largely monochromatic drawings into monochromatic paintings and lastly into full color paintings. One can step forward and backwards easily through the progression connecting all three of these visual modes of depicting an image and it can be helpful when thinking about our own drawings and paintings to imagine such a potential interrelatedness as we move from one media to the next.
